“ Saririt” reaches Dammang

Anchored on the mission of the University to transform the lives of people and communities, the College of Teacher Education (CTEd) maintains its extension program dubbed as “Saririt” by teaching multi- grade children of coco- farmers and fisher folks at Barangay Dammang , Sanchez Mira, Cagayan in basic competencies in English, Science and Mathematics on series of Saturdays.

Dr.Janelyn I. Agbayani, discussed English lesson particularly on Nouns while Mr. Lester Tabian taught “Mathematrix”. Other CTEd teachers joined in the series of trainings to these children of coconut farmers.

The Barangay Captain, Mr. Ariel E. Monje, in his opening remarks extended his appreciation for choosing their barangay as recipient of the extension program of the CTEd.

Saririt (intelligence) is one of the projects in the KANIYOGAN as extension program of the campus. It takes the role in addressing education and training problem through the improvement of literacy and numeracy skills among children of coconut farmers and tenants in Sanchez Mira.

Meanwhile, Dammang, one of the coastal barangays of Sanchez Mira is the second barangay recipient of the project.
