SARUSAR extends Livelihood Training on Fish Processing

“Sarusar”, the extension project of the College of Hospitality Industry Management (HIM) aimed at sharing the technology in food and non- food processing relevant to value adding for the coconut “as tree of life held series of Livelihood Training on Fish Processing for the households of barangay Bangan, Sanchez Mira through the initiative of the offices of the Campus Research and Development , Partnership and Resource Mobilization and the leadership of the Dean of the college on November 18, 30, 2017.

During the opening program, the Brgy, Chairperson, Mr. Rewin Valenzuela expressed his appreciation to Cagayan State University- Sanchez Mira officialdom for bringing the technology and sharing the emerging techniques on processing fish and other edible coco – innovated recipes and products which can greatly help serve as a source of income for the constituents after gaining the necessary skills and also requested for lasting partnership as the organized women could be further helped on making business plans for small scale enterprise.

In the said program, Mrs. Roscella. T . Noguera encouraged the participants to be active and start with small business while Dean Lyndon John V. Guittap, presented the rationale of the extension that is to train them and become selfmotivated, self- reliant to make a small profit from venturing into small business. After which , he lectured on Proper Food handling and Sanitation, followed by the demonstration on proper handwashing .

On the second leg of the program held on November 30, 2017 , Dr. Janet O. Bagasol, a faculty member of the college and the Campus Food Services Coordinator trained the participants on Milkfish deboning and on Rellenong Bangus making as basic recipe for the trainees to start with. All the trainees were provided with basic cooking safety kits.
